The Roll-off Dispatcher position is integral to customer satisfaction. As a dispatcher you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding customer expectations through accurate, prompt, and efficient roll-off dispatching. Communication is key as you balance the workload and available resources. Effective phone and written skills are necessary as you communicate with customers, your office team and driver team. Strong analytical skills are needed to determine the most cost-effective and timely location of each dump. This fast-paced environment requires the upmost professionalism.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Coordinate daily workload for drivers efficiently, analytically, and safely
- Maintain contact between drivers, dispatching calls as they are received
- Plan, distribute, monitor and follow-up daily route assignments
- Assign routes to appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day
- Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues
- Communicate with customers confirming needs, issues, and requests
- Relay information to drivers regarding specific job site/customers needs
- Track daily work trouble shooting any problems that may arise
- Verify paperwork supplied by drivers for accuracy before input into the billing system
- Communicate with maintenance shop personnel and serves as an emergency point of contact for drivers
- Maintain all data in appropriate systems including the following: Verify all dump tickets have been received.
- Track the location of all equipment including, but not limited to trucks and roll off containers
- Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in dispatching for a waste removal company or relevant work experience
- Proven ability to minimize safety-related accidents and operate an accident-free environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Ability to use Google Maps or other mapping software
- Work in a team environment
- Attention to detail
- Stay calm and respectful in a stressful situation
- Quick and confident decision making
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Good telephone and 2-way radio skills
- Exceptional customer service/sales skills
- Knowledge of the geography of the Greater Vancouver area is an asset
- Understand the basics of trucks and maintenance
- Driver license

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- dispatching: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Drivers License (required)
