**Bus Dispatcher**:
**Our ideal Bus Dispatcher is the person who is responsible for staging buses into the correct loading bays from the off-site Holding Area and loading the correct travelers onto those buses. On a typical day we have upwards of 1000 guests with transfers to Vancouver Airport, SeaTac Airport & Hotel Packages. This is an onsite position using two-way radios, and cell phones as communication tools. You will be required to be on your feet for 8 hours a day.**
**Daily Tasks**:
- The dispatcher will manage the flow of bus traffic for disembarking and embarking buses at the Cruise Ship Terminal - Canada Place.
- Communicate with the dispatch of bus company in the event of bus delays, mechanical issues, or no shows.
- Keep track of timing, guests counts and departure & arrival of each bus. Reconfirm with bus drivers their trip sheets, by using the Voyage Control system-tablet.
- Work closely with Supervisors to determine when the guests with transfers will be at the bus bay based on luggage laydown.
- Lead your team to load the buses in an orderly and timely fashion for transfer to airport, urgency is key.
- Have a team meeting once your team has arrived; go over ship notes, debark plan, guest flow to ensure everyone is on the same page. This meeting will include your team, dispatchers from other cruise lines as well as the West Lobby lead to ensure the guest flow is correct.
- Outgoing buses to Airport must be communicated with airport staff after each departure.
- Review with Airport Supervisor flow of the day and confirm that sufficient buses are available for embarking passengers.
- Communicate with Longshore to determine where the luggage on inbound buses will be dropped - dock or cruise ship level.
- Complete all necessary paperwork for the day.
**Who we are looking for**:
- Dispatch experience is an asset. (This is on site and in person; it is NOT a remote position)
- Proven customer service experience
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize within tight timelines
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities, able to work under pressure
- Basic computer skills
- Use of a two-way radio for communication
- Speak, read and write English is a must - other languages a plus
- Legally permitted to work in Canada
- Able to work a Day shift including weekends and Holidays
- **This is a seasonal position from June to October**_
**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months
Part-time hours: 25 per week
**Salary**: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
