**Accounts Payable Coordinator - Carriers (Hybrid and remote options available)**

**Job Description**:

- Prepares the monthly carrier summaries for all plans. This includes obtaining approval from management to requisition cheques and electronic fund transfers; processing calculations such as premiums due, arrears, adjustments, service charges and retail sales tax; prepares corresponding journal entries.
- Analyzes discrepancies, ensures errors are corrected, and confirms accuracy of the monthly remittance prior to payment.
- Collects, summarizes and reports account information including premium data.
- Obtains, analyzes and enters all information into the sub-ledger schedules to prepare monthly reconciliation of receipts and disbursements.
- Performs monthly reconciliations of sub-ledgers to the general ledger and maintains pre-paid premium reconciliation. This includes entering and analyzing receipts, disbursements, carrier payments, service charges and funds in the sub-ledgers, then comparing with debits and credits in the general ledger.
- Liaises with accounts receivable personnel to exchange information pertaining to carrier payments.
- Prepares carrier confirmations while adhering to external audit standards and assists auditors, as required.
- Secures financial information through regular database back-ups and follows internal accounting controls to maintain financial security.
- Assists with the invoicing process. This includes confirming system transactions, collecting generated reports and summarizing all invoicing information before sending to clients.
- Provides support to trade and broker trust payables
- Identifies opportunities for process efficiencies, implements process changes

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of one year’s post-secondary education including introductory accounting courses.
- A minimum of one year’s experience working in premium administration and analysis.
- The demonstrated ability to collect, compare and analyze all information and figures in great detail while using strategic approaches to understand complex problems.
- Superior time-management, project-management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills and a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
