**Position Summary**

The Accounts Payable and Payroll Administrator position exists to help MEDA achieve its mission. Specifically, the Accounts Payable and Payroll Administrator provides financial management and reporting to achieve MEDA’s financial and legal goals. The Accounts Payable and Payroll Administrator helps to ensure the overall success of MEDA’s accounting, compliance and treasury functions.
- Job Status: 6 Month Full Time Contract
- Start Date: As soon as possible
- Location: Waterloo, Ontario (_Hybrid work arrangement _available_)

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Comply with financial management and reporting framework; finance and audit policies
- Ensure that donor proposals, contracts, investments, partnerships, expenditures, advancements, advances and other legal issues are approved and monitored as per board approved signing authorities
- Provide accurate and timely accounting for MEDA North American and European operations and MEDA subsidiaries as required
- Receive and process invoices for payment on a timely basis
- Ensure payments are properly authorized in accordance with MEDA’s signing authorities and policies
- Ensure expenditures are properly allocated for accounting purposes and respond to staff enquiries regarding accounts payable transaction.
- Using information provided and approved by HC, process monthly allowances and wire transfers for overseas staff
- Complete and reconcile payroll and benefit spreadsheets
- Prepare and reconcile the general ledger payroll clearing account and the general ledger account reconciliations as required on a timely basis
- Submit payroll reports to regulatory authorities by deadlines required
- Reconciliation and administrative support as required

**REQUIREMENTS**

**Education**:Post-secondary training in accounting.

**Experience**:Minimum two (2) years of accounting experience

- Demonstrated knowledge in financial systems and practices, accounting procedures, and payroll procedures and regulations
