**Summary**
The Outside Sales role is responsible for generating new business and growing existing accounts for a defined segment of RHK’s business. This role requires the individual to actively prospect, qualify and convert new opportunities in addition to building and maintaining relationships with existing accounts.
This role requires the ability to articulate our unique value proposition and manage the sales cycle through an opportunity pipeline.
**Job Responsibilities and Duties**
**Prospecting & Lead Generation**
- Research and identify new business opportunities within the assigned territory, including untapped markets, growth sectors, and dormant accounts.
- Identify and engage potential customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, and trade shows.
- Maintain an active list of target accounts and follow a structured plan for engagement and follow-up.
**Opportunity Qualification**
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer operations, challenges, and component needs.
- Evaluate the likelihood of success based on budget, timeline, technical requirements, and decision-making structure.
**Sales Revenue and Pipeline**:
- Enter and update all leads, opportunities, tasks, and communications in the CRM system.
- Track opportunities through each stage of the sales cycle, from initial contact to closed deal.
- Use pipeline analytics to monitor performance, forecast revenue, and identify bottlenecks or stalled opportunities.
**Customer Engagement & Solution Selling**
- Conduct in-person and virtual meetings to build relationships, understand customer pain points, and present relevant product/service solutions.
- Work with technical sales support or engineers to develop solutions that meet client specifications, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
- Provide accurate information about lead times, service capabilities, product availability, and customization options.
- Navigate negotiations on pricing, delivery, warranties, and service terms to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
- Identify and overcome objections by reinforcing value propositions and return-on-investment.
- Present and review proposals with prospects, addressing questions and revisions as needed.
**Deal Negotiation & Closing**

- Recommend strategic adjustments in sales approach or product positioning based on field intelligence.
**Internal Collaboration**
- Attend regular sales meetings and pipeline reviews with sales leadership.
- Coordinate with marketing for promotional campaigns, customer events, and lead nurturing activities.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment by sharing knowledge, contacts, and best practices.
**Experience & Qualifications**
- Post secondary education in Business, Engineering or related field preferred
- Proven experience in Outside Sales or a similar customer-facing role, preferably within a technical or industrial manufacturing setting
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
