**POSITIION SUMMARY**
The Project Manager will manage all off-reserve Seabird-led environmental projects. They will work closely with external environmental consultants and government representatives to ensure projects are well-designed and adhere to technical and regulatory requirements. Projects may include construction environmental management on reserve, contaminated sites investigations and remediations, aquatic habitat restoration, and environmental assessments involving surveying and monitoring.
The Project Manager will have a background in Biology or other Environmental Science and be able to provide the technical skills and knowledge required to advise on environment-related matters. They will be required to delegate tasks, manage budgets, problem-solve, communicate effectively, and prepare reports, proposals, summaries, and work plans. The Project Manager will build important relationships with a range of internal and external partners throughout the region including federal and provincial governing bodies. They will advocate for First Nations fisheries and lobby Indigenous Rights as they relate to traditional territory and natural resources under Section 35, UNDRIP, and DRIPA. Leadership skills are key as this individual will be responsible for leading the Fish Wildlife and Natural Resources team to ensure that the program is actively working to meet the Nation’s goals and is upholding its values.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
**Supervision and Leadership**
- Perform full scope of people management activities, work direction and oversight of direct reports:
- work planning, scheduling, payroll processing and assessment of staffing needs.
- hiring/promotion, staff development, coaching/mentoring and assisting with performance management reviews.
- monitor and ensure teams are documenting and tracking information.
- ensure that all staff within the applicable programs have the appropriate training, credentials, oath of confidentiality, criminal record checks, and other documentation as required by SIB or relevant licensing bodies.
- conflict resolution, and assisting with discipline, and termination recommendations.
- organize debriefings with the team.
- authorizing leaves of absence.
- evaluating the work of staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively; and
- promote shared team goals and collaboration among members.
- Accountable to ensure staff are knowledgeable of applicable health and safety legislation, are trained to act appropriately in emergency situations, practice safe program delivery, and operate equipment and materials safely utilizing safe work practices.
- Ensure that documented procedural information is available and that necessary reports/follow-up to near misses and incidents are completed in a timely manner and reported accordingly.
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of reports and recommendations.
- Attend Committee, community and other public meetings and events as required.
**Fish, Wildlife and Natural Resources**
- Lead the scoping, planning, development, budgeting, and execution of environmental projects including major referrals, habitat enhancement, and environmental monitoring.
- Lead and oversee data collection, compilation, interpretation, and reporting for environmental projects.
- Demonstrate leadership and coordination of staff within the Fish, Wildlife and Natural Resouces Division by providing direction to team members and mentoring junior staff.
- Liaise with consultants, private stakeholders, government agencies and First Nations representatives.
