InBarn Solutions Inc. is a global leader in cattle handling and cow cooling solutions. We design and distribute innovative products that improve animal welfare and operational efficiency for farms worldwide.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead and develop our technical team. This individual will manage a team of five (with plans to expand), oversee technical design principles, ensure tool functionality, and drive product development initiatives. The Technical Manager will play a critical role in aligning technical operations with business goals and ensuring excellence in design and production.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Planning

  • Manage and prioritize daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual tasks for the technical team.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of 5 (Cattle Handling Product Specialist, Ventilation Production Specialist/External Project Coordinator, and 2 Draftsmen and a Product Manager).
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager to set goals and monitor progress.

Design & Development

  • Develop and implement design principles for new product development on the steel side of the business.
  • Work closely with vendors to obtain technical documentation for distributed products.
  • Support Product Manager in developing new products and rationalizing product lines.

Technical Tools & Systems

  • Oversee and maintain all design tools, including AutoCAD Revit LT Suite, Inventor Professional, and Vault PLM.
  • Ensure tools are functional, updated, and optimized for team use.

Process Improvement

  • Lead production rationalization initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify opportunities for technical innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in technical management or engineering leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor Professional, and PLM systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in agricultural or livestock equipment industry is an asset.
