**Summer Academic Program Faculty**

**11 Chemistry (SCH3U)**

Reporting to the Director of Summer Academic Program, the Summer Academic Program Faculty supports the academic and social-emotional lives of students enrolled in the Summer Academic Program. They develop and implement teaching practices and support the progress of all students. A member of Crescent School’s Summer Academic program has a passion for teaching, a commitment to their professional growth and to that of their students and colleagues.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plans, implements, teaches, and assesses the curriculum, and all aspects of the Summer Academic Program, for the assigned grade and class, using creative teaching strategies and differentiated instruction;
- Integrates the School’s mission throughout all curricular and co-curricular activities;
- Utilizes a variety of strategies to build strong developmental relationships with students;
- Employs innovation and technology, where appropriate, to optimize student learning;
- Establishes a positive and engaging teaching and learning environment through classroom management practices and techniques;
- Maintains current knowledge of best practices by engaging in professional learning opportunities and participating in professional development meetings;
- Participates in supervision and duties as assigned;
- Completes other duties as required.

**Knowledge, Education, Experience**
- Bachelor or Master of Education and in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
- 2+ years of classroom teaching experience with the appropriate division/age-group

**Working Conditions**
- This is a 4-6 weeks position.
- Occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends required.

**12 Advanced Functions (MHF4U)**

Reporting to the Director of the Summer Academic Program, the incumbent plans and teaches the curriculum for their course. This includes developing and implementing virtual teaching strategies and content; assessing student work and preparing report cards; effective collaboration with colleagues; building good relationships with students and liaising with parents as necessary.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plans, implements, teaches and assesses the curriculum, and all aspects of the Summer Academic Program (Virtual Learning), for the course, using creative teaching strategies, technologies and differentiated instruction;
- Utilizes a variety of strategies to build strong relationships with students;
- Employs innovation and technology to optimize student learning;
- Establishes a positive and engaging virtual teaching and learning environment through classroom management practices and techniques;
- Maintains a current knowledge of virtual curriculum design principles and effective delivery strategies;
- Collaborates effectively with colleagues to ensure program design and delivery goals are met;
- Ensures a safe learning environment and that our Code of Conduct and Virtual Learning Guidelines are adhered to by students;
- Integrates the School’s mission throughout all curricular activities;
- Other duties as required.

**Job Specific Competencies**

- Strong technical skills and proficiency with computers including MS Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Powerschool Learning and other digital classroom technologies;
