The Program Manager will manage a range of programs to support the organization’s mission, supervise Healing Our Own staff and administer operations of various sites.
**QULAIFICATIONS**
- A Bachelor degree in Social Work or Bachelor degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated supervisory experience with preference given to those with additional experience in the provision of supervision, coordination or management of a program.
- Knowledge related to the laws and principles of Child Welfare.
- Demonstrated experience providing services to Indigenous women and children.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, tradition, language and Indigenous community.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Violence Against Women sector.
- Demonstrated experience in innovative leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in networking and partnerships with external organizations.
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide proactive solutions.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and effectively establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships
- Demonstrated experience in database management.
- Able to write proposals.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.
- Prior experience in supervision of staff in a union environment is an asset.
- This position is currently an in-office position but with changing times there may be a time where we will return to a hybrid model. You must be willing and able to work a flexible working week from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in-office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by Beendigen.

**RESPONISBILITIES**
- Work from a holistic perspective, utilizing the teachings of the medicine wheel and Seven Grandfather teachings.
- Utilize Elders for teachings, healing and guidance and be able to incorporate indigenous culture into all programming.
- Take personal responsibility to increase sensitivity, awareness and implementation of Beendigen’s cultural teachings and organizational practices in both professional conduct and work-related deliverables.
- Supervise the day-to-day functioning of the organization programs and ensure adherence to program best practices.
- Provide assistance, consultation and resources for best practices to further integrate Indigenous practices, ways of knowing and culture into programs.
- Schedule weekly client case reviews.
- Supervise and direct staff in performance of duties.
- Assist in the development of staff skills in relation to sexual abuse, trauma and complex post-traumatic stress.
- Review and maintain all records; accurate time sheets, schedules, client files, etc.
- Maintain comprehensive files and reports.
- Develop targeted group programs for women and their children.
- Maintain highly effective client relations under the programs; act as mediator to address client concerns.
- Assist in redirecting referrals for the program by providing information to the referrer in regards to other resources.
- Advocate both individually and systematically at all times on behalf of women in crisis.
- Work with staff to develop and achieve program goals.
- Collect and analyze data and to submit as requested.
- Complete reports to funder.
- Assist in the evaluations of the programs.
- Assist in the recruitment of staff with the Human Resources Generalist.
- Conduct Probationary Reviews on new staff and Annual Evaluations on staff.
- Be an active member of the management team and the development and follow through of Beendigen’s Strategic Plan.
- Participate in the program’s budget process and to ensure fiscal responsibility for program expenses.
- Participate in initiatives with the broader Violence Against Women network.
- Establish collaborative relationships with outside agencies and maintain communication with agencies, staff and clients.
- Attend workshops, seminars and training pertaining to agency’s mandate.
- Travel when required.
- Must provide full Covid-19 vaccination or medical exemption.
