Job Summary:
Dalton Associates is seeking a Program Manager who has a passion for supporting dynamic, customized, collaborative and community-focused mental health and wellness programs in partnership with
Indigenous communities and regional authorities in north-eastern Ontario.
The purpose of this role is to support the Fort Albany First Nation Choose Life Funded Initiative through roles and components directly related to the project itself. This role will work alongside the FAFN Choose
Life Initiative Program Manager to deliver needs determined by the FAFN Choose Life team as a whole.
**Responsibilities**:
- Engage with community members and service providers to build relationships, assess community needs, and manage the project to support the mental health and wellness of individuals, families, and the community as a whole;
- Work alongside the FAFN Choose Life team to support community
- led program development and implementation in Fort Albany First Nation;
- Personally engage in reflexive and culturally-responsive practice, developing collaborative and respectful relationships in Fort Albany First Nation that are informed by the community’s knowledge and belief systems;
- Ensure clinicians are regularly engaging in learning opportunities so that their clinical supports are consistent with cultural teachings and cultural safety;
- Ensure clinicians are engaging in harm reduction strategies and promoting health equity with individuals and families impacted by barriers to various social determinants of health; and
- Engage in regular travel to Fort Albany First Nation.
Program Manager Tasks:
- Liaise with co-workers and service providers to develop community-based, culturally-minded safe practices (e.g. policies, procedures, processes and protocols) to ensure a consistent reference guide and standard of practice for the support of children, youth, adults, families, and community;
- Manage the travel logistics (coordinating travel arrangements and schedule) for all Dalton
Associates staff and contractors who attend Fort Albany First Nation and communicate these plans to the schools and FAFN Choose Life Initiative team;
- Support Dalton Associates staff and contractors in-community with travel logistics (shelter, food, orientation) and scheduling;
- Prepare for client referral, consent, and intake for Dalton Associates services and contractors, particularly Psychological services;
- Attend and support collaborative Dalton Associates and FAFN Choose Life Initiative team management and weekly management meetings;
- Facilitate and coordinate Dalton Associates clinical team meetings and debriefs;
- Support the composition of official communication, marketing materials, etc. for the various programs and services offered by Dalton Associates and the FAFN Choose Life Initiative;
- Develop and implement a Clinician Professional Development Plan that includes mandatory standardized training in which all team members must engage/complete (e.g., San’yas Indigenous
Cultural Safety Course), ongoing professional development opportunities for clinical and cultural competency, etc.;
- Development and maintenance of all job descriptions for Dalton Associates staff working with the
FAFN Choose Life Initiative;
- Support the analyzation, summarization, and reporting on metrics that are gathered for the purposes of monthly reports and program evaluations;
- Support the development of documentation for the Fort Albany Choose Life Initiative, alongside the FAFN Choose Life Initiative team (drafting service agreements, statements of work, policies and procedures, etc.);
- Ensure the incorporation of evaluation results in the continued evolution and operational improvement of Indigenous Services programs and partnerships;
- Identify areas for improvement, make recommendations for change and participate in the review and rev
