**About the company**:
Disc Alloy was born from Ph.D. research in additive manufacturing utilising cold spray (CS) technology. Our CS process significantly reduces part costs by 30-40% and saves 90% of the manufacturing time for bimetallic combustion chambers and we make them very large. Disc Alloy’s goal is to be the leading manufacturer of rocket parts that will be used by rocket companies worldwide.

**About the role**:
Disc Alloy is currently looking for a full-time 8 month intern starting from January 2025 - August 2025 to help us with Market Research and Business Development while also upgrading our presence through LinkedIn and our website. As a Business Development Intern you’ll have an opportunity to work closely with our leadership team to help with activities like customer discovery, finding a list of potential clients for our leadership team to connect with and using LinkedIn to target our potential customers by writing blogs about we do here at Disc Alloy. This role is a hybrid role based at the UBC Vancouver campus.

**Responsibilities**:

- Continuously monitor market trends, developments, and competitive landscape.
- Review and analyze existing market reports, and identify new sources of market intelligence.
- Select and compile 5-7 key articles per week for the management team, providing summaries and insights.
- Identify and develop a target list of potential companies and key decision-makers within those organizations on LinkedIn.
- Work with the management team to undertake customer discovery
- to understand their challenges related to thermal/weight/strength/optimization.
- aiming for 20 requests and securing 4 calls per week.
- the management team will lead the calls
- Upgrade the company website with current content and manage ongoing content updates.
- Create engaging content such as blogs and podcasts to broadcast messages to the outer space community
- Identify and review relevant commercial grant list and assist in drafting proposals in collaboration with the founders.
- Contribute to grant writing efforts to leverage existing capital and generate additional funding.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Science or related fields
- An interest in technology and startups
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret market data and trends.
- Proficiency in LinkedIn
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve effectively
- Experience with website management and content creation is consider a bonus

**Job Type**: Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 8 months

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
