**COMPANY PROFILE**:
Aquilini Group (“AG”) is a diversified family business founded in Vancouver, BC more than 50 years ago with roots in the real estate development and construction industry. Today the company owns and manages an international real estate portfolio that includes commercial and residential properties, hotels, golf courses, vineyards and blueberry and cranberry farms. In addition to these ongoing pursuits, AG has expanded its holdings to include assets in the sports & entertainment, renewable energy, aquaculture, tourist attractions, restaurants and food & beverage industries.

**SUMMARY**:
Aquilini Development (“ADC”) is seeking a new Human Resources Business Partner (“HRBP”) based in our newly renovated office in downtown Vancouver. The HRBP will report directly to the President and will work in collaboration with AG’s HR team to ensure alignment with AG’s policies and procedures. This role is newly created to deliver strategic HR programs and implement job and training programs for Indigenous communities comprising of our project partnerships. The implementation of the training and employment programs will coincide with the lifecycle of the development projects. This is an opportunity to be part of a team changing metro Vancouver’s landscape and contribute to our growing organization to help us better train and employ the communities of our Indigenous partners.

The HRBP will support a diverse employee population in the following departments: accounting & finance, IT, sales & marketing, development, civil & infrastructure, construction and customer care. This is a well-rounded role involving many facets of HR such as leadership coaching, talent acquisition, HR analytics, HR systems, employee relations, performance management, HR policy implementation and enforcement, organizational development, onboarding, learning & development, retention strategies, culture & engagement, change management, internal communications, etc.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

**Human Resources**
- Serve as a strategic HRBP for leaders, provide consultation, coaching and guidance on all HR related matters and initiatives;
- Establish effective working relationships with all levels of the organization and a partnership based on trust, experience, and credibility;
- Understand the business needs to provide strategic support and services aligned to the business needs and strategic plans;
- Provide coaching on key areas such as employee relations, performance management, recruitment, equity, diversity and inclusion, compensation, learning and development, employment equity, change management, and overall team effectiveness;
- Ensure all employee relation cases are investigated and closed out;
- Lead full cycle recruitment from job posting, shortlisting, interviewing, coordinating meetings, reference checking, and job offering;
- Coordinate and deliver new hire onboarding and ensure a positive and successful new hire experience;
- Work on employee engagement initiatives to enable culture and retention of key talent and cohesive, high performance teams;
- Collaborate with HR leaders of AG, engaging in collaborative information sharing, problem-solving, and decision-making in the context of a seamless service delivery model;
- Help build and deliver HR programs and support HR administration in tandem with AG’s policies, procedures, and practices;
- Assist Corporate Health & Safety Manager on WorkSafe and sick leave claims and proactively work with employees on successful return-to-work scenarios;
- Organize and coordinate events (i.e. townhall, holiday party, summer social, etc.);
- Perform other special projects as required.

**Indigenous Training & Employment**
- Collaborate with leadership to create and phase the delivery of Indigenous training and employment programs in relation to our partnerships and in tandem with development phases;
- Prioritize offering recruitment, employment and training opportunities for Indigenous partners in positions within development, construction, civil, marketing, accounting and property management;
- Create a Training and Employment Protocol to ensure that there is an emphasis on sourcing employment from our partners’ communities;
- Ensure Indigenous youth from our partners’ communities are made aware of training and employment opportunities across AG and assist to identify gaps and opportunities in training and employment structures to tailor a system that meets the unique needs of our partners’ communities and assist in creating and facilitating opportunities for training and employment;
