YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT For This position if you have the following skills and Qualities

1. You’re naturally caring and love serving people. Retail floristry is all about customer service.

2. You have a basic knowledge of fresh flowers and plants

3. You are a quick learner and passionate about floristry

4. An Eye for Design and Creativity The ability to use colours and shapes creatively

5. A good telephone manner for taking and giving details of flower orders

6. You’re not afraid of hard physical work-getting dirty. (lift & carry weight of up to50lbs)

7. Cash register skills and A Head For Numbers

8. Can communicate efficiently in English and take instructions with good penmanship

9. You can Work Under Pressure

10. You’re organized and tidy. You can problem-solve

11. You can navigate stressful situations with grace and resolve issues on the fly.

12. You absolutely love flowers even if it means your time is spent 20% playing with flowers and 80% on cleaning, paperwork, and preparations for actually working with flowers

13. Plant care, knowledge and identification skills are an asset

The duties will include:
Processing and conditioning fresh flowers - receiving them from suppliers and the flower auction, cutting, conditioning and maintenance

Wrapping bouquets/tying ribbons

Opening and displaying the shop front

Care and maintenance of plants and fresh flowers

Lifting and cleaning/washing buckets

Assisting with merchandising store displays

Customer service-taking orders in person and over the phone

Organizing Deliveries

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 37 per week

- Secondary School (required)

**Experience**:

- florist: 2 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)
