Floral Merchandising Manager

**Location: Northwoods, North Vancouver**

We are looking to hire a Floral Merchandising Manager to join our team. The focus of this role will be to curate, procure and display a wide variety of floral products in our STEMS store. This role will combine floral and merchandising knowledge to ensure the store selection is visually appealing and arranged in an attractive and enticing manner.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:
**Product Selection and Procurement**:

- Source and select fresh flowers, plants, and floral supplies
- Build relationships with flower wholesalers and growers
- Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to ensure the right mix of products
- Ensure products are high quality, fresh, and meet the store's standards
- Manage inventory, track stock levels, and organize the store or floral area efficiently.

**Visual Merchandising**:

- Create appealing floral arrangements and displays
- Design store layouts and set up attractive displays to attract customers
- Organize seasonal promotions and holiday-themed displays

**Sales and Marketing**:

- Monitor sales trends and adjust purchasing/displays to customer preference
- Work with the marketing team to promote floral products through ads, social media, and in-store promotions.
- Assist in training staff on design and product knowledge

**Customer Service**:

- Advise customers on suitable floral arrangement selections, wrap completed floral arrangements, build gift baskets, unpack and organize deliveries
- Plan and merchandise product display cases and develop seasonal décor
- Fulfill custom orders and assist customers with product selection

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with staff and customers
- A proven team player and who is also team-focused
- Understanding various types of flowers, plants, and their care requirements
- Strong eye for the design of floral and plant displays
- Strong problem solving and in-the-moment decision-making skills, process improvement, strategic planning, verbal communication, customer focus, management proficiency
- Able to function well in a high-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Available to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

**Education and Experience**:

- A minimum of 2 years demonstrating the sound knowledge of different flower types, arrangement styles, and flower conditioning
- Formal training or certification in floral design
- A background in Floral ideally in a managerial or supervisory role

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Able to be in contact with common plant allergens such as pollen

**Salary Range**:
$52-58,000/annually plus compensation package depending on experience
