Floral Sales Associate

**Position Location**:Northwoods, North Vancouver

**Job Summary**:
We are looking for a Floral Sales Associate to join our growing business. This role’s responsibilities include advising customers on suitable floral arrangement selections, wrapping completed floral arrangements, unpacking and organizing deliveries, managing the presentation and inventory of gift items, and ensuring that the floral shop is clean and well-organized.

Ultimately, this role will focus on day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring customers receive tailored assistance according to their needs, and helping the senior designers as necessary.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Greet and assist customers with their floral and gift needs.
- Provide expert advice on flower selection, gift ideas, and care instructions.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
- Help create beautiful floral arrangements, bouquets, and displays.
- Ensure flowers and plants are fresh, watered, and attractively displayed.
- Monitor floral inventory and inform the manager of stock levels and quality issues.
- Assist with receiving, processing, and storing fresh flower and giftware deliveries.
- Organize and display gift items attractively within the shop.
- Keep track of gift inventory and assist in reordering stock as needed.
- Stay updated on new gift products and trends to provide recommendations to customers.
- Assist with seasonal and promotional displays for gifts and flowers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming shop environment.
- Restock display areas regularly to ensure they remain tidy and appealing.
- Help decorate the shop for special occasions and holidays.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, orders, and customer preferences.
- Assist with taking and fulfilling telephone and online orders.
- Participate in inventory counts and help manage stock levels
- Performs other related duties as assigned

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Basic knowledge of flowers, plants, and floral design principles is preferred
- Experience with gift merchandising and retail display techniques is preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and an eye for design
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

**Education and Experience**:

- Previous experience in a floral or retail setting is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must be able to stand during scheduled shift, withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds at times

**Hourly Rate**:
$17.80/hour starting wage (plus shift premiums as applicable)
