The Shop Manager is responsible for the operations and supervision of the staff. They will also ensure the staff in the shop have all the tools and resources they need to ensure productivity. Ensuring overall oversight of the shop, the Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping which takes approximately 25% of the work week.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Oversight of shop - appearance and functionality
- Establish work priorities, delegate work to office support staff, and ensure deadlines are met and procedures are followed
- Responsible for overall supervision and oversight of staff
- Participate actively in the planning and execution of company events
- Assist in Organizing office operations and procedures - responsible for daily oversight of operations in the shop.
- Oversee adherence to office policies and procedures
- Purchasing office supplies and equipment and maintaining proper stock levels.
- Creating presentations and other management-level reports.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant work environment
- Working with staff and Advisors to ensure productivity
- Day-to-day bookkeeping and basic accounting
- Processing accounts payable and receivable
- Year end accounting
- Monthly reconciliation of accounts
- Processing agent expenses
- Financial file management
- Maintain accurate and compliant files for all transactions
- Processing cheques and commission payments for agents
- Payroll and creation of yearly tax forms
- Foster relationships with Advisors and staff to ensure a positive experience for all

**Position Requirements**:

- Bookkeeping/Accounting certificate or degree an asset or a minimum of 2 years bookkeeping experience in a prior position
- Proven office management, administrative, or assistant experience - minimum 3 years
- Knowledge of office management responsibilities, systems, and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Number oriented
- Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures
- Knowledge of business and management principles
- Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages
- Proactive in problem solving
- Driver’s license and own vehicle required (milage is compensated if needed)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: To be negotiated based upon experience - personal health benefits and inside parking to be included

**Location**: Halifax based location with paid parking

**Hours**: Monday-Friday with potential evening and weekend work based upon Management position and tasks

**Salary**: $32,000.00-$38,000.00 per year
