**Position: OT Device Management**
**Location : Markham, ON**
**Duration: Contract Role (3+ months)**
**Client: ELC Beauty LLC**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**In Scope Services**:
- Perform and store an initial backup of all PLC programs
- Perform and store routine periodic backups of all PLC programs
- Perform as needed a restore to a PLC of the backed-up program
- Perform troubleshoot on reported OT network issues
- Perform a check on all OT devices of the set default gateway IP Address and update if needed
- Perform a complete OT network device asset inventory
- Collect and store Tag Names from all PLC and HMI devices in the OT network
**Initial PLC backup**:
All PLC devices in the Melville plant should have an initial backup of their currently running programs.
The following steps should be taken to perform and store the initial backup on each PLC:
- Physically go to the equipment with laptop
- Connect to the machine network through programming port
- Open the last program in the automation software
- Upload the program following the CUSTOMER naming standard from the PLC into the CUSTOMER provided storage location
- Organize backups electronically in the CUSTOMER provided storage location
**Routine backups of PLC programs**:
Periodic routine backups should be taken from all PLC devices in the Melville plant on a to be agreed basis, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
The following steps should be taken to perform and store the periodic routine backups:
- Physically go to the PLC equipment with their laptop
- Connect to the machine network through programming port
- Open the last program in the automation software
- Upload the program from the PLC in the CUSTOMER provided storage location
- Save the backup as a new copy as per CUSTOMER naming standards
- Organize backups electronically in the CUSTOMER provided storage location
**Restoring PLC programs from a backup**:
In such cases that a PLC program needs to be reloaded then the following steps should be taken:
- Download the newest backup program for the specific PLC onto the laptop
- Physically go to the PLC equipment
- Connect to the machine network through programming port
- Open the past backup of the program
- Download program into the PLC/HMI/robot
- Ensure maintenance is aware they may need to re-home robot before proceeding
**Investigating network issues**:
In the event there are network issues that prevent CUSTOMER from accessing the OT device then the OT FSE will perform network connectivity troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve the issue. It is important that the OT FSE is CUSTOMER certified in, and follows, the CUSTOMER ZES and LOTO procedure outlined in Section entitled Safety
**The OT FSE should then**:
- **Go to the equipment in question**
- **Troubleshoot using the programming port, if not able to resolve, then**
- **Follow ZES and LOTO procedure**
- **Open the electrical panel and inspect**
- **Connect sacrificial cable**
- **Close door**
- **Troubleshoot externally**
- **If the problem is not immediately identifiable and resolvable by OT FSE then OT FSE should reach out to CUSTOMER support team before contacting the OEM**
**Default gateway IP Address configuration**:
All OT devices to have configuration of its default gateway IP Address checked as correct and changed if incorrectly configured.
Any device that is misconfigured, with the incorrect IP Address for the network default gateway, will require the OT FSE to make a change of IP Address to conform. To perform the configuration change and update the IP Address for the network default gateway the OT FSE will:
- Complete and submit the CUSTOMER change control paperwork
- Upon change approval co-ordinate downtime with CUSTOMER operations team
- In the approved change window go to the equipment with their laptop
- Connect to the machine network through the programming port
- Change the default gateway IP address configuration of the PLC, HMI, and other devices
- Power cycle the machine
- Perform a quick test to confirm equipment devices are still able to communicate with each other
- Perform a device backup by following the device periodic backup procedure outlined above
- Update asset documentation and the change control paperwork with applied changes.
**Asset inventory database update**:
The OT FSE will perform an OT device inventory validation and update the CUSTOMER inventory database to ensure all devices are captured and recorded. All asset information collection must be completed under the ZES and LOTO protocols as per Section entitled Safety:
