Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled
Occupational Therapist (OT)
specializing in seating & mobility to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area. The successful candidate will use their clinical expertise to assess clients' postural and mobility needs, recommend and fit appropriate seating and mobility solutions, provide training, and support both clients and their caregivers. This role bridges clinical-care and product support, offering a meaningful opportunity to directly enhance client quality of life through mobility and seating solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive seating & mobility assessments in clinical, homecare, long-term care, or hospital settings across Toronto and surrounding areas.
  • Recommend, configure, and fit wheelchairs, seating systems, cushions, pressure-relief devices, standing frames, and other mobility aids.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for clients, their caregivers, and other healthcare providers on proper use, maintenance, and safety.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and equipment teams to ensure clinical appropriateness and user comfort.
  • Document clinical assessments, equipment prescriptions, fittings, and follow-ups accurately and in line with regulatory and company standards.
  • Provide ongoing support and adjustments as needed, addressing comfort, pressure management, posture, and mobility challenges.
  • Stay current with developments in seating & mobility technology, pressure-relief strategies, and best practices in mobility care.
  • Occasionally travel to client homes, clinics, long-term care facilities, or hospitals across the GTA; valid Ontario driver's licence preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered with the relevant regulatory body — e.g., College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) — and in good standing.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience, ideally with a focus on seating & mobility assessments, adaptive equipment, or rehab/long-term care.
  • Familiarity with wheelchairs, adaptive seating systems, pressure-relief equipment, and mobility aids.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills — able to work with clients, caregivers, families, and clinical teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and coordinate equipment fittings and follow-ups.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence and comfort with travel within the GTA.
