**Training Development Specialist (Full Time) - Mississauga, ON**
**Primary Purpose**
The Training Development Specialist is responsible for creating and running training content for employees to meet the safety, compliance and competence needs of Linde Canada, using available tools and platforms. They collaborate with the business units to develop content that helps build the skills and knowledge of Linde employees. They will source best practices from both internal and external sources. They will customize training programs as required to best suit the target audience; these can be online, in classrooms or in training settings within facilities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Creates training content and Learning Objects based on needs and priorities of the organization
- Works closely with SME’s and stakeholders to create content that builds organizational capability
- Supports SME’s and BU’s in developing content independently where possible
- Works closely with Training Manager to prioritize delivery of training programs and initiatives
- Identifies and implements best practices across the organization and leverages available tools to that end; this includes identifying and leverage synergies of other Regional BUs
- Works with Business Units to assesses training and development needs training content and its source, whether existing, adapted or new
- Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees
- Collaborates with the Training Manager on the development of unique training programs to fulfill employees’ specific needs based on key roles within the organization where maintenance and improvement in job skills is required
- Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials
- Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements
- Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback
- Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development
**Required Qualifications**
**Education**:
- College Diploma or Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline
**Experience**:
- Training content creation
- Technical writing
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Experience with SCORM software packages such as Adobe Captivate and MS Articulate 360
- Adult learning
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
