Technical Training Specialist

Convergint is recruiting for a results-driven Technical Training Specialist to support our rapidly growing business across Canada. This position is open to a skilled instructor with a passion for providing world-class service to your colleagues through educating them on the skills required to be an exceptional technician at Convergint in Canada. As a Technical Training Specialist, you will primarily focus on security and building automation systems. This role will require travel to a number of CTC (Convergint Technology Centers) across Canada.

**What you’ll do**
- Design, create, and deliver technical training through instructor led workshops
- Assists in the design, innovation, and update of training programs and materials.
- Maintain awareness and understanding of new technologies and update training programs or materials as necessary
- Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness
- Responsible for all assigned travel arrangements, class management, maintenance of training content and equipment, and timely reports of training results
- Create a positive, inclusive, learning environment
- Executes all work in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Always acts as “our customer’s best service provider” thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.
- Keeps up to date and informed on all company policies.
- Always presents a professional image of Convergint in appearance and behaviour.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

**What You’ll Need**
- Strong leadership skills related to customer service, finance and purchasing
- Exceptional customer focus and ability to regularly work under pressure; consistent ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of your colleagues
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to enthusiastically deliver high-quality, instructor-led training
- Strong team leadership, team building and facilitation skills
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and colleague development skills. Actively seeks ways in which to act as a role model, guide, develop and mentor others.
- Proficiency in the creation of technical training course materials, using multiple mediums relevant to audience and objectives
- Strong financial analytical skills including cost control
- Advanced organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of five to seven years of experience in one of the following industries: Security and/or Building Automation
- Minimum of two years of experience in a Technical Training Specialist position, ideally within the Security and/or Building Automation industry
- Experience with virtual classroom delivery and instructional design tools is preferred.
- Diploma in Electronics strongly preferred
