SkillPlan seeks a full-time WordPress Project Lead (WPPL) to support our training and program design services for our clients across Canada.

This role requires a deep understanding of WordPress (including plugin and theme development), as well as the ability to scope and lead a development project. The Project Lead will be responsible for developing a comprehensive project workplan, identifying required resources, coordinating team members and ensuring delivery on time and on budget.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain a detailed project workplan, outlining phases, deliverables, timelines and responsibilities.
- Identify and coordinate the technical and human resources required to deliver the project successfully.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between technical staff, instructional designers and other stakeholders.
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle - from initial discovery and planning through development, testing and launch.
- Lead or contribute to WordPress development tasks, including custom plugin and theme work, where appropriate.
- Ensure the technical team adheres to best practices for WordPress development, security and maintainability.
- Manage risks, track progress and communicate status updates clearly to stakeholders.
- Audit an existing codebase and plan for necessary updates or refactoring.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify and support customized access requests to current D2L Brightspace LMS.
- Develop and maintain workplans for mini projects relating to the ongoing customization of the current D2L Brightspace LMS.

**Required Skills**:

- Proven experience managing WordPress development projects, particularly involving custom LMS platforms like LearnDash.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage timelines, scope and deliverables.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript (+jQuery).
- Experience in WordPress development, including plugin creation, theme customization and Gutenberg block development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and to lead small project teams.
- Comfortable reviewing and refactoring legacy codebases for performance, maintainability and security.

**Other**:

- Valid BC Driver's Licence

**Hours and Days of Work**:

- Fulltime, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Flexible work schedule
- Occasional travel in BC and across Canada (in accordance with guidance from provincial and federal health authorities)

**Job Type**: Full time

**Salary Range**: $80,000 - $95,000
