About this roleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Controls Lead to join our Project Controls team at our Burnaby office. In this pivotal role, you will support the successful delivery of complex electrical technology and IMIT systems projects by leading planning, scheduling, documentation, cost tracking, performance reporting, and commissioning activities.You will play a key role in ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. If you bring a strong background in electrical, security, or healthcare technology systems deployment and thrive in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you.Your responsibilitiesLead the delivery of project controls across assigned electrical technology and IMIT projects, including Nurse Call, RTLS, Audio Visual, Public Address, Intercom, Security Systems Telecommunication, Structured Cabling, and Video SurveillanceEnsure consistent application of best practices in scope, schedule, cost, and risk managementMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant processes, systems, and toolsTrain and coach project team members to ensure best practicesEscalate concerns in a timely and effective mannerSupport accurate progress reporting and encourage use of standardized JES templatesAssist in creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with installation methodologiesReview monthly FLR and JSR documents and communicate any discrepanciesEnsure effective documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including start-up, team, and close-out meetingsMonitor quality control plans and perform spot checks on logs, photos, and recordsVerify documentation of constraints and delays, assessing their impactProvide direct support during the commissioning phase, including schedule consultation and coordinationParticipate in site-level coordination and scheduling meetingsAssist with subtrade activity coordination and monitor operational readinessYour experience and skillsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field5 years of scheduling experience in electrical, security, or healthcare systems deployment, preferably in constructionA combination of education and relevant experience may be consideredProven safety record with no infractions related to live work or lockout proceduresStrong understanding of access control, networks, and IMIT systemsAbility to read and provide feedback on project schedulesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSolid grasp of project financial concepts and reportingProficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)Experience with tools such as Procore, OpenSpace, Fieldwire, Smartsheet, and SharePointAdaptability to organizational changeStrong coaching and training abilitiesAbout HouleAs BC's leading electrical contractor and systems integrator, we believe in delivering safe, reliable power for the future.
