**About the Position**:
The Supervisor, Accounts Payable provides administrative support and supervision to the Accounts Payable Team. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will ensure that all invoices are processed for payment within terms, ensure the process flow of invoices and payments are in adherence to Accounts Payable Policy and Procedures. Identify and implement business process system improvements, perform project management responsibilities for implementing process improvements, prepare metrics reporting and prepare/review Accounts Payable personnel.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Leadership**
- Supervise and support a team of AP Administrators to ensure smoothness of daily operations.
- Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in conformity with company policies and procedures.
- Identify areas to increase efficiency and improve accounting processes; working with the Manager, AP to implement process improvement.
- Identify financial accounting opportunities and alternatives to meet company objectives.

**General**
- Maintain cheque stock.
- Check CFP accounts exceptions daily and process stop payments.
- Process GST/HST by the end of the month.
- Process Expense Reports; visa transactions and personal/travel expenses.
- Work on special projects as assigned by Senior Management.

**Job Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Degree in Finance/Accounting/Business
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role or leading a team is required
- 5-7 years’ experience in full cycle accounts payable processing
- Experience with electronic purchase order and implementation an asset
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point, Word) **a must**:

- Systems proficiency with electronic purchase orders & accounting software is required
- Experience with Yardi is an asset

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately.
- Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations.
- Self-motivated individual who is proactive, takes initiative, goal and results oriented and work independently without a lot of direction.
- Superior organizational and time management skills in order to multi-task/prioritize and work under tight timelines and meet multiple deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy is critical.
- Superior attention to details and accuracy with excellent follow-up skills.
- Good leadership skills
- Provide superior customer service to internal business units.
- Excellent communication is required. Ability to speak other languages is considered an asset
