The **Advanced Case Manager **is responsible for contributing to the Company’s individual life and health sales goals by providing complex case and sales strategy support to advisors in the Sun Life Financial Distributors (SLFD) channel.
You will play a key role in supporting our Financial Advisors in Western Canada with new insurance sales primarily in the affluent and high net worth markets. You will proactively work with the Insurance Sales Directors, Financial Advisors and their regional teams to identify sales opportunities and recommend solutions using your advanced knowledge of Sun Life products, competitive positioning, and complex sales strategies.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide 1:1 support to SLFD Advisors in Western Canada and across Canada regarding large and/or complex cases and competitive situations with a focus on helping to generate sales and place new business
- Facilitate webinars to improve our Financial Advisors knowledge and awareness of products and individual / corporate strategies that will help to drive sales
- Participate in proactive outbound programs to increase Financial Advisor awareness of team services, product enhancements, and marketing initiatives
- Deliver training programs focused on advanced concepts and strategies for our Financial Advisors
- Support Financial Advisors through proactive follow up on submitted business, supporting key events such as Professional Development Symposiums
- Work closely with the regional teams including the RVP, District Manager and Business Development Consultants / Partners to support sales growth.
- Quarterback cases from start to finish. Liaise between Financial Advisors and internal teams (Product, Pricing, Underwriting, New Business and EFPS) to assist with smooth placement of business.
**Qualifications**:
- Knowledge of Sun Life and individual life and health insurance products
- Understanding of our competition and the Canadian insurance and financial environment including government regulations and tax implications - both corporate and individual.
- Knowledge of systems and tools used to support the sales process (Illustration systems, Salesforce, SVFA, MS Excel)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build solid relationships with internal partners and with SLFD Advisors
- Completion or working towards relevant industry designations (CFP, CLU)
- ** As the role primarily supports the Western region, some travel is required.**
**Preferred skills/experience**:
- Education in business or finance, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years working with Individual insurance products
- 3-5 years experience in insurance sales or sales supporting role
