**POSITION TYPE**: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated January 7, 2025 up to May 2, 2025)
**SALARY**: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*
**POSITION LOCATION**: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)
**DUTIES**
Reporting to the Chair, Life Sciences, Dental Assisting and Health Information Management Programs, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for the Dental Assisting Program. Responsibilities include student evaluation, maintaining student records, scaling patients in a clinical setting if required and collaborating with program instructors in the dental clinic. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene or Certificate in Dental Assisting
- Current Registered Dental Assistant with scaling module or Registered Dental Hygienist
- Significant current experience in polishing, fluoride treatments and scaling
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment with a collaborative approach
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
**ASSET QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Experience developing and instructing distance delivered courses including on-line
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
- Experience working with dental software, e.g., Maxident or Dentrix
- Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level in a clinical setting
**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
