**Instructor, Pathways and Transition Math & Science (Term, Full-Time)**
School of Indigenous Education

**POSITION TYPE**: Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated December 2, 2024 up to June 30, 2025)

**SALARY**: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*

**POSITION LOCATION**: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)



**DUTIES**
Reporting to the Chair, Pathways and Transition Programs at the School of Indigenous Education, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for Math and Science, and teaching within various Pathways and Transition programs. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Subject areas include preparatory Math and Science topics for learners pursuing further education within RRC Polytech programs. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary education in a Math or Science oriented discipline; or in Education; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience teaching Math or Science in a post-secondary or education setting, or related industry experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Experience, knowledge, and competency with Indigenous cultures, history and community protocols and incorporating into a learning environment
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

**ASSET QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
- Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
- Indigenous Ancestry (Status, Non-Status, Intuit and Métis)

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
