The Marketing & Communications Department at Baycrest has an opportunity for a

**COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST**

**Full-time**

70 Hours Bi-Weekly | Non-Union | Day shifts

The Marketing & Communications Department is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies for a wide range of internal and external audiences that support Baycrest’s strategic objectives.

The Communications Specialist is a highly skilled writer and content generalist who will author and edit a wide variety of materials in support of Baycrest. The position will also support day-to-day communications planning and execution of materials, such as draft communications plans, collateral, presentations and reports.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Create impactful communications/content that connects us with our internal and external stakeholders in support of stated goals.
- Write, review, edit a wide array of content for multiple audiences.
- Provides proofreading/copy editing support to the team.
- Prepare briefing notes as required for media relations initiatives, issues management and communications materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop compelling and engaging digital content with a consistent brand message for digital channels to drive audience engagement.
- Create, source and curate a variety of customer-centred written and visual digital content across various formats (e.g. images, infographics, videos).
- Contribute articles and copy to vehicles such as Annual Report and BrainMatters magazine, mailings, websites and campaigns.
- Produce content that supports and extends the brand campaign and other marketing initiatives across multiple platforms and channels both proactively and responsively.

**Qualifications include but are not limited to**:

- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Communications, Journalism, PR or other related discipline required.
- Five (5) years related writing/communications/copywriting experience.
- Healthcare sector experience is an asset.
- Experience with photography and social media platforms (YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
- Strong command over MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design software.
- Experience with media relations tools (such as MRP Data, Cision) is an asset.
- Previous experience in photography is an asset.
- Detail-oriented and consistently adheres to a high standard of work.
