Our strategy, facilities, partnerships and resources are intentionally student-centred to foster dialogue, expression and open connections in support of the next generation of creative and cultural leaders.- The HR Advisor, Regular Faculty partners with internal + external stakeholders in the delivery of HR services to the University community in matters related to talent acquisition, workforce planning and labor relations for regular faculty. The HR Advisor, Regular Faculty shall engage in their work with an aim to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) for all those who attend our campus for work or for study. This will require the Advisor to remain current in EDI trends that impact their field of work and make recommendations to the Human Resources Director, Advising Services on how to improve HR services.

**Some Typical Duties Include**:
- Partners with the Vice-President, Academic + Provost and the Deans, in the recruitment of regular faculty, ensuring effective attraction practices and compliance with established procedures, policies, and collective agreements. Specific tasks may include:
- Conducting a department specific diversity audit in partnership with the hiring leader.
- Providing training to committee chair and members on unconscious bias, human rights, confidentiality, and conflict of interest; and assisting the chair in the integration of diversity skills into the search process.
- Advertising regular faculty opportunities and sourcing appropriate advertising mediums.
- Making formal contract offers of regular faculty appointments. Preparing and updating written contracts for appointments.
- Ensuring payments are processed through the HRIS.
- Assists the Human Resources Director, Advising Services in resolving grievances related to all faculty. Develops relationships with the Faculty Association to address grievances through interest-based problem solving and communication. Liaises with the Human Resources Director, Advising Services on the development of final resolutions, and securing financial approval from the appropriate stakeholders when resolutions contemplate a financial settlement or a significant cost to the organization.
- Provides one-on-one coaching to Deans, Assistant and Associate Deans, and regular faculty on a variety of HR related topics, including, but not limited to, professional development, performance management, engaging in difficult conversations, and supporting a culture of engagement and collegiality.
- With support from the Human Resources Director, Advising Services, leads the University’s Duty to Investigate on matters related to faculty conduct, including engaging with the University leadership team in the development of an investigation strategy. Furthermore, the HR Advisor develops reports summarizing findings of investigations and provides recommendations on potential remedial action for the University Executive team’s consideration.
- Manages and coordinates faculty specific programs, including:
- Sabbatical and Education Leaves.
- Tracking Tenure and Promotion, including the coordination of all probationary review activities and ensures procedures are in accordance with the terms of the collective agreement.
- Enters and maintains new employee data in the HRIS (Colleague) system. Maintains HRIS and/or hard copy personnel information on all regular faculty, including developmental reviews, leaves, etc. Informs the Human Resources Director, Advising Services, payroll, academic administration, and faculty of changes to status as necessary.
