**FINANCIAL ANALYST**
The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) employs approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington and the City of Guelph. The UGDSB covers the ancestral and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Six Nations of theGrand River, and Saugeen Ojibway Nation.

The Upper Grand District School Board is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Finance department in this permanent, full-time position starting as soon as possible.
**LOCATION**:Guelph Board Office (500 Victoria Rd. N, Guelph, ON)
**SALARY RANGE**:$55,337.00 to $69,171.00 per annum (under review) 35 hours per week
**BOARD INFORMATION**:1.0 FTE; 12-months; permanent, full-time; Administrative Employees
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Prepares customized financial reports of the Board’s financial activities for various internal and external users including Schools, Management, Senior Administration, Ministry of Education, etc.
- Performs regular review and analysis of financial data, identifying trends and explaining variances
- Supports School Generated Funds accounting and reporting, and provides leadership in any software or procedural changes for school generated funds accounting
- Delivers presentations to communicate finance concepts and finance department policies and procedures
- Provides guidance and training to non-finance system leaders and admin staff related to financial issues and questions
- Manages assigned balance sheet accounts by investigating any discrepancies, preparing necessary adjusting journal entries and maintaining monthly reconciliations
- Reviews financial transactions to ensure compliance with Board policies, plans and procedures, laws and regulations
- Provides support to the Finance Department by being versatile and adaptable to multiple tasks, deadlines and competing priorities
- Other duties as assigned
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- University or College Diploma in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline. Professional accounting designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five years of experience in financial/budget analysis and financial statement preparation, preferably in the public sector
- Thorough understanding and skills in the use of financial information systems, report writing and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide presentations to larger groups
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet timelines
- Excellent attention to detail and excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
