The Continuing Education department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course of DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND ASD (351-330-LA).

This course introduces students to intervention methods and strategies that are effective in enhancing the adaptive potential of persons with developmental disabilities,
including ASD, across the lifespan. Students learn to associate relevant approaches, objectives, and intervention techniques that facilitate the development of social,
communicative, cognitive, and psychomotor skills. Specific attention will be given to supporting persons with developmental disabilities in their ADLs (activities of daily living),
evaluating clients’ physical and social environments, and supporting clients’ family and social support networks.

**Required Qualifications**:
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years teaching experience.
Teaching experience in special care counselling or a related program such as counselling, social work, or clinical psychology is an asset.
Experience working with an ASD clientele in the special care counselling field is required.
This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.

**Comments**:
All classes are given in-person from the college campus.
The hired instructor must have the ability to teach a course online/at a distance.

Tuesdays 1-4
(EXCEPT: December 26 & Jan. 2)
Wednesdays 1-4
(EXCEPT: December 27)
Thursdays 1-4
(EXCEPT: December 21 & 28)

This course is taught in English. The selected incumbent will be required to work in English.
