**Description**:
The Continuing Education department of Champlain College Saint-Lambert requires the services of an HOURLY INSTRUCTOR to teach the course of AGING AND LOSS OF AUTONOMY (351-328-LA).

This course provides students with the knowledge and tools needed to help individuals experiencing loss of autonomy due to the aging process. To understand factors that impact the client’s adaptive potential, students experiment with specific assessment tools and plan adaptive activities that help evaluate the client’s deficits and functional autonomy. An emphasis is put on techniques of communication with the client and family members to help create, maintain or improve the support network of the client. Activities conducive to social integration intended to enhance the client’s quality of life are developed and analyzed in class lab experiences.

**Required Qualifications**:
Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline and 2 years teaching experience.
Teaching experience in special care counselling or a related program such as gerontology, social work, or clinical psychology is an asset.
Work experience in gerontology is strongly recommended.
This course is taught in English; proficiency in English is required.

**Comments**:
This course will be delivered in a face-to-face format (synchronous); classes will be taught onsite from the College. For exceptional reasons, with the approval of the pedagogical advisor, a class could be taught online; the hired instructor must have the ability to teach online.
