Property Manager

The property manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and the overall management of the commercial/residential portfolio including maintenance, leasing, accounting, budgeting, and staff and contractor supervision.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Supervision of the Building Superintendent at each multi-unit property to ensure properties are well maintained and all maintenance issues are addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Direct and oversee all property maintenance
- Organize and schedule contractors work and ensure deadlines are adhered to
- Ensure all corporate policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented
- Provide property management services to clients and tenants in compliance with the management agreements and tenancy laws
- Respond to client and tenant inquiries
- As required, coordinate the build out of tenant and capital improvements
- Ongoing communication with staff, tenants, contractors, support personnel, leasing agents, senior management, and owner’s representatives
- Effectively develop and maintain strong Tenant Relations through regular interaction, property visitations and property inspections
- Provide guidance and direction to your team to ensure client and tenant satisfaction
- Attend residential tenancy hearings
- Provide emergency on-call after hours’ service
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- A bachelor’s degree and/or experience of 3+ years in a property management role is vital. Completion of Property Management Certification is considered an asset.
- A valid class 5 drivers license is required
- Intermediate or advances level of proficiency in Office 365 software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve quality results.
- Excellent knowledge of office procedures and practices are required to maintain accurate and secure files, track and follow-up information/report requests
- Interpersonal skills to deal with co-workers, tenants, contractors, vendors, other departments, and the public in a positive, tactful, courteous and cooperative manner.
Knowledge of insurance requirements, fire code regulations and Nova Scotia residential tenancy laws are considered an asset
