Overview

Job Position: Property Management Accountant (Full-Time Position).

Sheriff Corporation is the landlord for office, commercial & industrial properties in the GTA area. Our head office is located in Vaughan. We are seeking a full-time accounting candidate with property management experience in the office, industrial, and commercial sectors. The Property Management Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our property management operations.

Responsibilities

- Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable, monitor accounts, and analyze operating expenses.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports.
- Rent collections.
- Coordinate and evaluate all reports with the Property Manager on a monthly basis.
- Ensure compliance to all procedures and evaluate and prepare annual budgets, review expense ledgers and assist in recovery reconciliations.
- Monitor tenant bills, ensure appropriate coding, and prepare and update general ledgers.
- Supervise accounting information and prepare all property-associated reports.
- Analyze property level balance sheets and cash flow statements, maintain integrity of all data and ensure efficient processing of all customer and vendor invoices.
- Evaluate balance sheet accounts and evaluate all property activities and provide support to all documents.
- Compile audit schedules and provide documentation to support external audits.

Requirements

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Minimum 5 years accounting experience in Real Estate.
- Strong communication, written, and computer skills.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
- Sound business knowledge.
- Accuracy and an eye for detail.
