The **Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta **is a collaborative partner with community agencies/ organizations in advocating on behalf of persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. We are a leader in delivering programs and services, educating, and providing information on treatment and resources relating to cerebral palsy in the province of Alberta.
**Objective**:
The Operations Manager is responsible for strategic direction and leadership for the overall administrative operations, which includes staff and service administration. This role effectively and efficiently manages the development and direction of the Operational Team to drive the growth of revenue, productivity, and a superior level of satisfaction among our clients. Manage all aspects of the CPAA Social Enterprise and ensuring consistency and adherence to policies and procedures.
**Summary**:
Responsible for management of business operations, and to make recommendations as to the success and diversification of business activities.
**Strategic Planning and Leadership**
- Develop and implement company-wide operational plans and strategies to drive organizational change initiatives in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan.
- Improve operational performance through innovative business strategies and process enhancements.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making through insightful reporting in management meetings.
**Development & Community Relationships**
- Cultivate relationships with clients, partners, investors, and other stakeholders across the province to build trust, foster collaboration, and ensure alignment with the social enterprise's values and goals.
- Handle partnership enquiries contribute to solutions as needed.
- Represent the social enterprise at conferences, events, and industry gatherings to build networks, raise visibility, and identify opportunities for collaboration and growth.
- Oversee community events, including planning, scheduling and attending, including events within the community and our Home Pick-up program
**Staff Supervision**
- Overall day to day management of all Operational employees within the province.
- Create a positive environment that is oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort.
- Guide and support staff in the performance of their duties and ensure staff follow personnel policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper maintenance of personnel records such as: employment notes and managing time and attendance.
- Assists with recruiting process including developing job descriptions, screening of applicants, interviews and orientations.
- Interview and recommend the hiring of staff, supervise assigned staff, carry out performance appraisals, direct the training and development of staff and carry out disciplinary actions as needed.
**Collection Control**
- Manage the scope and requirements of our partnership contracts as it pertains to CPAA to meet budgeted contributions.
- Maintain and develop the organization’s working relationships with our partnership contacts and advise on improvements as needed.
- Work closely with the Operation’s Team to assure efficient collections from all sources - Drivers, ADS’s, Bins, Partnership, Alliances, Residential Pickups and all additional/seasonal events.
**Administration and Resources Control**
- Reconcile accounts payable and submit records for accounting.
- Oversee our Call Centre staff and ensure all communication is managed effectively with internal and external enquiries being addressed**.**:
- Oversee the operational accounting process including invoicing from partnerships.
- Departmental budget annual preparation and conducting monthly financial assessments.
- Monitor financial performance to ensure the department is meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment and report on the department’s daily, monthly, and annual key performance indicators on industry trends.
- Review and analyze monthly expense statements.
- Oversee Accounts Payable for the department, including processing invoices and providing PO’s.
- Ensure volunteer and donor concerns processes are followed, and issues are resolved.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to maintain vehicle licensing and insurance, and carry out maintenance schedules as needed.
- Ensure Health and Safety processes and procedures are developed, implemented and reviewed to ensure a safe working environment is maintained for all Operational employees.
**Marketing**
- Work closely with the Communications & Marketing Team for developing and implementing the Marketing Strategy to promote the various recycling initiatives.
**Other**
- Complies with CPAA policies and procedures.
- Ensure duties of the Operation’s team are covered during absences.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Executive Director.
