Cassellholme, a not for profit, charitable organization, operates a 240 bed Long-Term Care facility serving residents 18 years of age or older who have long-term health care needs as well as a Community Support Services program that supports seniors' independent living. Cassellholme is located in the City of North Bay which is situated within 3 ½ hours of both Toronto and Ottawa. Nestled between beautiful Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake, the district offers both urban and country living, with multiple recreational opportunities.

Cassellholme is currently seeking an IPAC Support Coordinator

**What can I expect to do in this role?**

Working in collaboration with the IPAC Manager, we are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable IPAC Support Coordinator to independently support and enhance infection prevention and control practices within our long-term care facility. This role works collaboratively with unit managers, nurses, the IPAC Manager and the Director of Care to promote best practices in infection control and ensure compliance with applicable protocols..

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct building and isolation audits, ensuring proper signage and PPE are in place
- Monitor and adjust PPE stock levels based on outbreaks and usage
- Perform regular hand hygiene and PPE audits across all departments
- Deliver constructive feedback, education, and performance statistics to staff
- Track and communicate areas for improvement through internal observation and reports
- Collaborate with staff to implement practical solutions for infection prevention
- Use Point Click Care to audit care plans and ensure accurate documentation of isolation precautions

**How do I qualify? Mandatory Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education (or diploma in progress) in health sciences, nursing, public health, or a related field (IPAC-specific training or certification is an asset)
- Experience working in a healthcare or long-term care environment, preferably in infection control, nursing, or related support roles
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles, including isolation precautions and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Strong observation, auditing, and reporting skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to coach, educate, and provide feedback to staff at all levels
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with Ministry of Health, Public Health, or Long-Term Care standards is an asset
- Satisfy Criminal Police Check (CPIC) with vulnerable sector screening
- Satisfactory Two-Step Mantoux Test (TB)
