The Village engages students, seniors, community and caregivers to support and create new models of healthy ageing and inclusion efforts aimed at improving outcomes of Seniors and Indigenous Seniors in the region. The Village collaborates with more than 50 regional collaborating and partner organizations.
Reporting to the Manager, the Intergenerational Coordinator will focus on addressing student needs by offering educational experiences related to healthy aging while identifying and prioritizing the needs of seniors, ensuring they receive optimal campus support and connections to community services. The incumbent will oversee inclusion activities and coordinate engagement between seniors and students, creating new and enhanced opportunities for both groups to promote healthy aging in the region.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Two (2) year Diploma in Human Care and Wellness or related field and/or a combination of education and experience
- Strong client focus with awareness and sensitivity to diversity and culturally safe service practices
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to negotiate at all levels with internal and external collaborators
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, critical thinking, conflict resolution, team building, and communication skills
- Experience coordinating and overseeing student placements
- Demonstrated experience supporting Senior populations
- Experience coordinating and overseeing space booking and events with strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience, knowledge and active involvement in coordinating and implementing quality improvement initiatives/projects an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- In-person, on-site position; must be able to reliably commute and/or relocate to North Bay, ON
**DUTIES**:
- Oversee intergenerational curriculum, programs and activities and coordinate seniors and student engagement
- Respond to all incoming inquiries, directing them to the appropriate staff members. Identify and prioritize urgent issues for immediate resolution
- Coordinate all room bookings and assist in all aspects of event planning in Village spaces
- Follow up on referrals with potential participants and partners
- Register participants for Village programming
- Liaise with community partners and academic faculty to support intergenerational partnerships
- Provide training and support to placement and work study students
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate workshops and information sessions to educate students, collaborators, partners and the community on promoting inclusive, intergenerational, and accessible practices
- Maintain database of services, programs and participants
- Assess, analyze and resolve complex situations
- Provide tours for Seniors and interested community partners
- Other duties as assigned
