Lady Hammond Animal Hospital is looking for a skilled professional to join our team as a **Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist** in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This is a dynamic role where you will split your time between hands-on patient care and managing the busy flow of our front desk. If you are organized, compassionate, and ready for a long-term career with excellent support, we want to hear from you

**What You'll Be Doing:Veterinary Assistant Duties**
- Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in all aspects of patient care (medical, surgical, and dental procedures).
- Performing patient restraint safely and compassionately.
- Monitoring and caring for hospitalized patients.
- Maintaining inventory and ensuring the clinic is clean, organized, and properly stocked.

**Receptionist Duties**
- Being the warm, professional first point of contact for clients, both in person and over the phone.
- Managing a multi-line phone system, scheduling appointments, and handling client inquiries.
- Processing payments and managing daily financial transactions.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic and physical medical records.

**What You Bring**:

- **Proven experience** as a Veterinary Assistant and/or Veterinary Receptionist is essential.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, procedures, and clinic flow.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A compassionate, professional, and positive attitude, especially under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Avimark is considered a strong asset.
