Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital is a ground-breaking specialty hospital located in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia. We are proud to have boarded specialists in Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Neurology, Cardiology and Radiology. We also host other departments including Emergency/ECC with a dedicated ICU, Ophthalmology, Anesthesia, Surgery and Exotics with more on the way. We have been expanding since opening and are seeing consistent growth.

**Overview**

**Technical abilities and skills**
- Complete capability with cloud based PIMS and incoming records from other hospitals
- Ability to collaborate with multiple specialty departments
- An approach that is progressive, strategic, humble and achievement orientated
- Comfort working closely with clients for intakes, discharges, follow up phone calls
- Deep understanding of procedures for in house and outside laboratory samples
- Proficiency with restraint of canine and feline patients for exams and diagnostics using FearFree and low stress handling techniques
- Safely lift and handle large dogs
- Professional comportment and proficient medical charting

**Minimum Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Graduate from a Veterinary Assistant program
- Preference for 2-3 years experience in clinical setting.
- Prior experience working within a Specialty Referral Hospital an asset
- Able to perform moderately physically demanding work that requires lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and stairs

**Job Type**: Full Time, on site

Pay: starting at $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: Monday - Thursday 8a-6p = 40hrs
