We are currently looking for a Benefits Specialist to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Total Rewards team with the day-to-day management of our Short-Term and Long-Term Disability programs, retirement programs and general benefits administration for our employees within the Canadian division of Sunwing Vacations Group. The position reports to the Total Rewards Manager and will be located in Toronto, ON.
**What You’ll Do**:

- Administer, maintain, and communicate the organization’s benefits program, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Manage short-term and long-term disability programs from initial case submission to communication of employee status updates and the relevant updates to the HRIS system.
- Work with various areas of People & Culture including Operations and Payroll related to all benefits and leave administration.
- Administration of DPSP/RRSP plans - specifically new enrollments and education strategies
- Administration of the group benefits plan and the Employee & Family Assistance Plan (EFAP)
- Research and analyze benefits plans, programs, and policies to provide recommendations for changes and improvements.
- Ensure benefits programs are compliant with legal requirements.
- Coordinate and conduct employee information presentations, enrollments, and other related educational sessions regarding benefits programs.
- Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist employees with benefits-related issues and questions and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage and process claims, invoices, and resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
- Collaborate with insurance providers, benefits vendors and leadership to ensure smooth operations.
- Supporting the team with regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Supports the Total Rewards team with designing and deploying various Be EPIC Be Well strategies anchored to Emotional, Financial, Physical and Social Wellbeing
- Other duties as assigned.

**What You’ll Need**:

- Minimum 4 years of work experience.
- Knowledge of various types of insurance plans, retirement plans and laws related to employee benefits.
- Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HRIS is a benefit.
- Fluent in both English and French is an asset, but not required.
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data and provide recommendations.
- Able to meet deadlines on a weekly and monthly basis with strong prioritization skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work in a fast-paced organization.
