**About You**
We are seeking someone who is safety-conscious, an effective communicator, and great customer service background. You know the city of Edmonton and the surrounding areas well, and you are an expert with current traffic rules and regulations.
Reporting to the Health and Safety/Claims Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all taxi drivers under his/her supervision adhere to traffic rules, regulations, and company policies while providing safe and timely transportation services to our passengers.
**Responsibilities**:
Ø Supervise and monitor the activities of taxi drivers to ensure that they comply with traffic rules and regulations, company policies, and customer service standards.
Ø Conduct regular inspections of taxis to ensure they are in good working condition and are properly maintained.
Ø Assist in conducting driver training programs to ensure drivers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide excellent customer service.
Ø Investigate accidents involving taxis and prepare reports on findings and recommendations for corrective action.
Ø Ensure that all transportation-related documentation, such as driver logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records, is accurate and up to date.
Ø Under the direction of the Driver Relations Department, communicate with drivers and customers, and other departments to ensure that transportation services are well-coordinated and that any issues are resolved promptly.
Ø Monitor driver performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed to ensure that drivers meet safety, performance, and customer service standards.
Ø Monitor telematics system (Samsara) and work with drivers to improve safety behaviors and safety scores
Ø Perform Road Tests for new and high risk drivers to minimize risk for the business
**Required Skills and Competencies**:
Ø A team player who is focused on providing exceptional service and a customer-focused attitude with the ability to take direction, work independently, and work well with others.
Ø Must be able to prioritize and multitask, including being able to remain flexible in continually changing and fast-paced situations.
Ø Driver training instructor experience
Ø Ability to work with time constraints in a complex environment.
Ø Geographical knowledge of the city and surrounding areas.
Ø Possess advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively manage issues
**Qualifications**:
Ø High School Diploma or equivalent, and additional certification in transportation management
or in a related field is a great advantage
Ø Proven experience as a taxi supervisor or related role in the transportation industry
Ø Must have a clean 5-Year driver’s abstract, Class 1 preferred.
Ø Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations, safety standards, and customer service practices
Ø Ability to manage and motivate drivers to provide excellent customer service.
Ø Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ø Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software; **Samsara/Telematics is an asset.**
**Working Conditions/Hours**:
Ø work in an office environment and spend a significant amount of time in the field monitoring and inspecting taxis and drivers. This role may require working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
