**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Fleet Manager is responsible for managing Flair’s existing aircraft fleet while supporting the company’s long-term fleet strategy. This role plays a critical part in aligning strategic fleet planning with operational execution to meet business growth objectives. The Fleet Manager oversees fleet plans, aircraft lease agreements, and maintenance strategies related to lease extensions and returns. Additionally, the role involves evaluating aircraft to support fleet planning initiatives and coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution. This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring occasional travel for in-person meetings. The Fleet Manager may also be required to work evenings and weekends as needed.
**Primary Job Functions**:
The duties of the **Fleet Manager**include:
- Assist the Corporate Controller, and other key internal fleet stakeholders, in preparation and maintenance of a strategic fleet plan for long-term planning of Flair’s fleet.
- Ensure the long-term fleet plan is aligned to capacity demands, working closely with Network Planning, and also support the budget and three-year plan process.
- Key point of contact with external relationships including aircraft manufacturers and lessors.
- Ensure timely decisions on fleet business cases and related contractual terms such as for aircraft leases, financings, novation’s, lease extensions, modification programs, etc.
- Support the evaluation of the commercial, financial and operational implications of wet lease / charter aircraft versus in-house aircraft to meet Charter demand.
- Review, negotiate, and support drafting of various agreements, including contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders such as maintenance, finance, legal and external counsel in aircraft financings, aircraft transactions, and post-transaction maintenance including lease returns.
- Drive continuous improvement activities to identify and eliminate waste, improve quality and safety, decrease lead time, and reduce costs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- ** Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree, with a post-graduate designation or Master’s level education in Business, Engineering, or related fields.
- ** Experience**:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fleet management, strategy, or a related field.
- Exposure to aircraft technical matters or aviation-related experience is preferred.
- ** Skills & Abilities**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to influence senior management and provide strategic support.
- High professionalism and ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and adaptable to change.
