Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Manitoba supports the health and well-being of children receiving medical care by providing essential services and a home away from home for their families. Our programs include Ronald McDonald House, which provides accommodations for out-of-town families, and Ronald McDonald Family Room, a place of respite for both Winnipeg and rural Manitoba families inside HSC Children’s Hospital.

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for leading the organization’s human resources (HR) functions, fostering a healthy, safe, inclusive, engaged, and respectful workplace. This role provides HR insights, assists to evolve the chapter’s DEI strategy, and facilitates building organizational capacity to achieve the strategic plan and fulfill the chapter’s mission. The role oversees all HR activities, policies, and processes, ensuring compliance with all employment-related legislative requirements. The position requires a broad knowledge of HR strategy, practices, and employment issues, both internally and in the community sector with government, public, and partners.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Full cycle HR leadership activities, including leading the development and delivery of onboarding, recruitment and retention, performance management, health and safety, employee relations, compliance training, and maintenance of human resource policies and procedures
- Be expert in legislative knowledge of all things HR providing ongoing support, feedback, and guidance, in accordance with human resources legislation, to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team
- Prepares total compensation reports for CEO, Manager, Supervisors for annual Performance Discussions
- Partner with the CEO and senior managers to develop policies, programs and procedures ensuring documentation is in place to meet employment standards, human rights, and other applicable legislation
- Establish processes to regularly solicit feedback from employees to improve employee engagement, satisfaction and retention
- Promote and cultivate positive and trusting relationships with all leaders and employees and ensure an organizational culture of trust, respect, and dignity for all
- Ensure compliance and accuracy of human resource information management systems, and processes are maintained
- Lead administration and follow up for the onboarding and offboarding of all staff members, including conducting exit interviews, identifying trends, and making recommendations to the CEO and senior managers
- Lead the surveying of staff engagement through annual and pulse surveys

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Passion for the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities Manitoba
- Degree/diploma in human resources, administration, business management, or equivalent education and experience. CHRP is an asset
- Minimum 3 years of human resources experience, including experience and success in an Human Resources Generalist role
- Prioritizes confidentiality
- Experience in full cycle recruitment practices in a human resources department setting

Working knowledge of provincial and federal employment/labour laws. This includes familiarity with all Employment Standards Laws in Manitoba, Employee Rights in Manitoba, The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, and other applicable employment laws
- Deep functional knowledge and broad experience in all areas of human resources policies, practices processes, and legislation
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience with Payworks payroll services is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and address complex employee/policy issues and exercise sound and experienced judgment in providing advice and guidance, often in ambiguous situations
- Strategic thinker with proven negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to build trust, ensure people feel heard, and act with integrity
- Excellent interpersonal and well-developed communication skills
- Experience working in the not-for-profit sector is an asset
- Experience with equity, diversity, and inclusion programs in the workplace is an asset

Wage Range: $25 - $30/hr.
