**To Qualify for This Position, You**:

- Are pursuing a degree or Diploma related to Information Technology/Project Management/Business Administration/Administrative Studies (Recent graduates as also eligible to apply)
- Be able to work independently and within a team environment, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use sound judgment.
- Have excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, using multiple channels with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization.
- Have strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
- Be proficient with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Possess creativity, empathy, enthusiasm, and compassion.
- Be able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening/Police Reference Check

**Here’s What You Will Get to do**:

- Provide general administrative support to the team, including filing, organizing documents, and managing project-related correspondence.
- Assist with data entry, document management, and filing.
- Respond to inquiries and provide information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments.
- Assist teams with planning, organizing, and executing various projects and events.
- Assist in monitoring project progress and tracking milestones.
- Adhere to the Lumacare Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
- Other tasks as needed.

**To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs program, students must**:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- Be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and refugee protection act for the duration of the employment and,
- Have a valid social insurance number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

SALARY: $15.50 per hour. Unfortunately, funding does not allow us to exceed this amount. We, however, promise to compensate you with a rich and rewarding experience that will help to build your future.

Lumacare has an opening for an 8‐week summer student contract position for an Activity Worker and we invite compassionate, energetic, and reliable undergraduates working towards achieving a degree or diploma in Activation/Therapeutic Recreation/ Social Service Worker/Gerontology/Sociology to a rewarding experience that will help build your future.

As an Activity Worker, under the mentorship of the Team Lead, Adult Day Program, you will assist Program staff with their clients who are seniors, including those who may have a physical disability, are recovering from a debilitating illness, or who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease or a related cognitive impairment. Some responsibilities will include, assisting with meal service, transportation, group exercises and escorting clients safely.

You will report directly to the Team Lead, Adult Day Program.

**To Qualify for This Position, You Must**:

- Be pursuing a degree or Diploma related to Recreation, Activation, Sociology, Gerontology, or other related fields. (Recent graduates as also eligible to apply).
- Have an interest in recreational programming.
