The Soup Meister’s Nephew specializes in the production of high-quality, hand-made, fresh daily Soups, Stews, Stocks, Broths, Sauces, Dips and Spreads. We offer fast-casual dining and take-away, direct to consumer retail, and wholesale to many local cafes and eateries. Our menu varies daily, rotating through 80+ varieties of product. We are continuing a long-standing North Shore tradition with a modern twist, operating in the same space, with the same recipes since 1995. We consistently rank as one of the ‘Best Meals on the Go’ by _North Shore News - Reader’s Choice Awards_ and are a High Ranking establishment on Uber Eats and Google Business.

The Position:
We are looking for motivated Kitchen Helpers/Prep Cooks as we scale up production for a busy soup season. These positions require a variety of skill sets, and are well-suited to dynamic team players with 1-3 years kitchen experience. Tasks include (but not limited to):

- Following established written recipes
- Preparation and portioning of ingredients
- Use of digital weigh scales
- Intermediate to advanced knife work
- Use of automatic kitchen equipment (blenders, food processors)
- Use of gas ranges
- Use of gas ovens
- Use of electric steam kettles
- General kitchen cleaning
- Dishwashing
- Inventory of products
- Interacting with Customers
- Basic stock taking
- Basic stock reporting
- Serving of soups, buns, and accoutrements
- Packaging of soups to a set standard
- Placing of stickers and labels
- Sweeping
- Mopping
- Organizing of retail displays
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

These positions are FULL-TIME, hard positions (non-seasonal) with year-round employment.

This position requires a minimum of FoodSafe 1 or equivalent.

They are not afraid to ask questions, or seek assistance, and are constantly striving to improve. Someone who thrives in a dynamic team environment to get the work done and can handle competing priorities and tasks. A self-starter who easily picks up daily routines and follows established kitchen procedures.

This position requires customer interaction, interpersonal communication and use of Point of Sales systems. Previous experience being customer facing, dealing with enquiries, and assisting clients are an advantage.
