**Full Time Permanent Position - **37.5 hours per week**

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is accountable to supporting and executing the Human Resource operational plan, which supports the achievement of an employee-oriented, high-performance culture. Responsible for executing initiatives in all functional areas of human resources, including talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, health, and safety (disability management/WSIB), policy administration and record management and maintenance. Maintains accurate and up-to-date knowledge of governing legislation (ESA, Human Rights Act, OHSA) to support and protect legislative compliance.
The HR Generalist, leads and directs the efforts of the Talent Acquisition Specialist and HR Administrators who are working with Lumacare.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
**Talent Acquisition**
- Develop and implements talent acquisition strategies for internal and external talent.
- Manage the talent acquisition process for all positions in the organization, i.e., job posting, job offer, references and onboarding.
- Conduct “Hiring Needs Analyses” with hiring managers to assess hiring needs, including recommendations for hire.
- Monitor and evaluate key talent acquisition metrics.
**Total Rewards**
- In collaboration with managers and staff, create job descriptions.
- Participate in annual compensation review process.
- Submit payroll changes/updates in employees’ files to the payroll department.
- Manage the Record of Employment (ROE) process, including fielding questions from Service Canada on ROE related questions.
- Administer benefits program for all staff and assists in the negotiation of employee’s insurances and benefits plans.
**Performance Management**
- Educate staff on the annual performance evaluation cycle.
- Provide coaching to managers on how to manage performance of employees.
- Track and monitor the completion/submission of end of probation and annual performance reviews; follow up with leaders as necessary to ensure Agency-wide compliance.
**Health & Safety**
- Manage all WSIB claims for the Agency including maintaining disability management program files.
- Process WSIB claims in collaboration with the HR Manager. Works with WSIB on claims and submission of information.
- Consult with managers and employees through short term disability leaves and safe return to work processes, i.e., Lumacare’s Workplace Accommodation policy and process.
**Record Management and Maintenance**
- Maintain accurate vacation and sick time tracking.
- Manage employee files, medical records, and employee relations investigation files in accordance with PIPEDA standards.
**Policy Administration**
- Advise all staff on employment legislation, e.g., Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety, Human Rights Code, Workplace Violence, AODA.
- Recommend changes to policies and procedures based on evolving legislative and organization requirements.
**Employee Relations**
- In partnership with the Manager, HR, respond and address employee concerns and issues.
- Collaborate with Manager, HR and Director, Operations on investigations, as required.
- Assess organizational risk and escalate issues that are more complex or pose a legal risk to Manager, HR and/or Director, HR.
**EDUCATION**
- University Degree or Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration and/or Human Resources Management
- CHRP designation or working towards designation
**EXPERIENCE**
- 4 - 5 years of experience in human resources with experience in employee relations and talent management, i.e. talent acquisition, onboarding, total rewards, benefits/claims administration.
- Experience working with an HRIS system, i.e. SutiHR, QHR, CIMS, SAP, Workday, ADP
- Prior knowledge or experience in the non-for-profit sector is preferred.

**ROLE REQUIREMENTS**
Current Vulnerable Sector Police check required completed within last 12 months is required
