**Baristas (Open, Midday, Close) focus on Guest Services**:

- Smiling and greeting every customer that comes into the café.
- Taking orders and suggestive selling items from Good Earth's programs:

- Seasonal products from the Seasonal Launches Program
- Catering Program
- Liquor Program
- Mobile Order Program
- Holiday Program
- Good Earth Rewards Program
- Coffee Program (including Feature Program).
- Serving food and beverages:_
- Prepares all specialty drinks according to these reference guides:

- Cold Drink Reference
- Hot Drink Reference.
- Heats, grills, and serves food according to these reference guides:

- Food Cooler Display
- Heating & Grilling
- Hot Food Finishing.
- Put the extra Barista Best touch in services, such as:

- Asking customers if they would like their muffins, scones, or cinnamon rolls warmed.
- Offering sandwiches and paninis served cold if preferred.
- Suggesting cold drinks during warm weather days.
- Transferring food to ceramic dishes for dine-in guests.
- Thanking guests while making their orders.
- Regularly updating customers on the status of their order.
- Restocks:_
- Station supplies.
- Food cooler display with prepped production items from the back cooler (ensuring proper rotation and appealing presentation).
- Milk cooler twice a day.
- Regularly checks milk and cream servers (only fill milk server 1/3, and cream 0.5).
- Sanitizes and organizes customer areas:_
- Dusting and sanitizing all café surfaces (tables & chairs, ledges, condiment station, frontend counters).
- Sweeping all café floors (under tables & chairs, condiment station, plants, bookcases).
- Checking bathrooms, including supplies.
- Catering Orders:_
- Barista - Foodista manages catering orders:

- Receives confirmed catering orders on Band from the Manager.
- Ensures there is enough inventory for catering (just in time, adds items to GFS and Superstore orders).
- Lists catering order tasks on the catering order's Band post.
- Records and assigns catering tasks using 7Shift. Possible Tasks:

- Barista:

- Assembling & labeling Coffee Totes
- Packaging & Labeling Condiments
- Filling Coffee Totes
- Barista (Foodista):

- Prepping and Assembling Food
- Letting the Senior Barista know that the Orders are ready for delivery
- Earthlings must inform, by commenting on the catering order's Band, other Earthlings where they are in the catering production line. This ensures team communication keeps the production running effectively and without issues because everyone is aware of when they need to perform their tasks.
- The manager will sometimes do a lessons-learned debrief so we can remember what went well.

Checks the Catering Band and assists the Barista (Foodista) with Catering Orders:
Today Orders:

- Prepare beverage items for catering deliveries.
- Packaging all items (food and beverages) into delivery bag(s).
- Verify orders and handle delivery driver hand-offs.
- Tomorrow: Prepare the items in the Catering - Packaging Guide.

**Role**:Barista - Open

**Responsibilities**:

- Clock in using 7Shift at 5:30 AM on weekdays
- Complete and check off Opening Barista tasks using 7Shift, including:

- Perform a morning café walkthrough, recording and posting pictures on 7Shift of any deficiencies while completing tasks.
- 30 Minutes Prior to Open:

- Turn on:

- Café lights.
- Café and patio music systems.
- Oven (preheat to 290 degrees).
- Panini Grill (set to 350 degrees).
- 2 Fetco brewer switches.
- Count till float and record.
- Set up the Condiment Stand:

- Stock with cream and milk servers from the Milk Cooler.
- Fill the water jug.
- 15 Minutes Prior to Open:

- Display and label all baked items.
- Unwrap all paninis, sandwiches, and wraps.
- Unwrap baked goods.
- Put out patio furniture.
- Turn on Display Cooler lights.
- Get tongs for bakery items.
- Check washroom for supplies and cleanliness.
- 5 Minutes Prior to Open:

- Brew all coffee.
- Pull an espresso shot, adjusting the grind if required.
- Prepare the espresso station with cloths and product.
- At Open:

- Set up sanitizing stations (panini station, espresso stand, and kitchen prep table).
- Check café tables for cleanliness.
- Check customer paper supplies (lids, napkins, etc.).
- Restock food display cooler.
- Assist with catering orders before opening.

From 7:00 AM on weekdays:

- Manage the café's frontend:

- Catering Orders.
- Guest Engagement.
- Equipment Maintenance:

- Check equipment: Steam Wands, Espresso Shots, Fetco Brewer.
