**PURPOSE**:
The Human Resources Generalist fulfills the daily activities of the Human Resources function while also providing resources, training and support for employees and managers. This individual executes full-cycle recruiting, employee training and development, employee and labor relations, talent management, benefit and payroll administration, education, training, and events and activities for the company.
**DUTIES**:
**RECRUITMENT/ONBOARDING**:
- Full cycle recruitment and new employee orientation
- Present Roterra at recruitment events (career fairs, presentations, etc.)
- Develop relationships with University and College career centers
- Preparing and completing new hire packages, pre-hire testing, and onboarding programs
**EMPLOYEE/LABOUR RELATIONS**:
- Conduct investigations of employee complaints and concerns.
- Provide efficient and timely resolution to employee concerns, issues, and inquiries.
- Advise and coach managers and supervisors in performance management matters (reviews, disciplinary, etc.) and assist in preparation of related documentation.
- Assess culture and employee engagement to make suggestions for improvements that support company goals and promote employee satisfaction
- Support managers and help enforce weekly touchpoint and annual review programs
**HR PROGRAM AND COMPLIANCE**:
- Assist with facilitation of various programs, including but not limited to: Onboarding, Engagement, Talent Planning Mapping, Performance, Benefits, Compensation and Bonus Review.
- Facilitate the exit interview process and provide analysis of data on a bi-annual basis, or individual basis when required.
- Assist in the development and execution of learning and development resources and employee tools, including presentations, workshops and tool kits to enhance the employee experience.
- Facilitate the roll out and tracking of employee acknowledgement of employment related policies.
- Partner with managers to ensure employment practices are compliant with legislation, and any necessary permits are updated and complete.
**ADMINISTRATION AND COMMUNICATION**:
- Prepare and maintain employee files and store employee information electronically in compliance with company standards and applicable legal requirements.
- Enter and maintain employee data within the HRIS system
- Administer the benefits program, ensuring employees are added/removed to benefits as needed, and that all records are accurate.
- Process bi-weekly payroll with payroll administrator
**COMMUNICATION/REPORTING**:
- Facilitate the monthly newsletter and years of service and birthday recognition program
- Prepare monthly HR reports for department managers and leadership.
- Provide employees with a resource to discuss confidential topics
**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:
- Degree or diploma in human resources or business administration
- 5+ progressive HR experience in a fast-paced, construction and/or manufacturing environment
- 1+ year of experience in recruiting and onboarding in construction and/or manufacturing environment
- Exposure to organizational development, succession planning, performance management, training, change management, and general health and safety
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and HRIS systems
