Reporting to the Plant Manager of the company, the Production Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The job holder is also required to develop processes that will maximize safety, quality and productivity. This role has direct report of 4 Production Supervisors and 85+ indirect line workers, line leads, machine operators. This role requires a hands-on approach to coach and develop the production team and find opportunities to improve overall department’s performance.
- Core Responsibilities (not limited to)_
- Overseeing daily operations in an effective and safe manner to exceed customers’ needs
- Work closely with the Planning department to understand orders and collaborate to improve plan execution.
- Analyze business data from ERP system and production report, implement necessary changes to improve the production procedure
- Increase production output, work capacity and flexibility while reducing waste
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize equipment downtimes and find new setups on existing lines to improve production capacity
- Coach and monitor line leads and Supervisors to implement and maintain SOPs
- Responsible for product yields and ensure proper organization and maintenance in the production area with monitoring product flow.
- Scheduling, delegating, managing employees on production line
- Support, improve and implement company policies and procedures including GMP, HACCP and continuous improvement initiatives

- Job Type: Permanent Full-time
- Probationary Period: 3-months / 480 hours service time (whichever happens latter)
- Work Location: Mississauga ON
- Shift Requirement: Must be Flexible for any shifts including emergency call-ins. Plant Production runs from Sunday-Friday
- Work environment: 70% on the production floor and 30% in the office
- Salary Package: TBD depends on experience level
- What you should have_
- 8+ years of progressive experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Minimum 5 years experience in Manufacturing/Production Management, preference in Food Industry with strong continuous improvement background
- Have a strong knowledge in business data, KPI, yield of machine, wastage control, labor cost control etc
- Direct experience with management principles such as budget control, production planning, resources allocation, capital expenditures and employee management
- Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, inventory process
- Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
- College or university degree required,
