Role Description

This is a
full-time, on-site, project-based role
for a
Production Manager and 1st Assistant Director
with
union set experience
, based in
Markham, ON
.

The engagement covers
prep and principal photography from May to June 2026
, followed by a
two-day wrap-up period
.

Responsibilities include overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of production schedules; managing crew members and ensuring full
ACTRA/IATSE compliance
; maintaining on-set safety and operational efficiency; and facilitating clear communication between the production team and all departments. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, advanced scheduling capability, and effective contingency planning to keep the production on schedule and executed to professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in production management and on-set coordination, specifically within unionized environments (ACTRA/IATSE).
  • Excellent organizational, scheduling, and time-management skills to ensure streamlined production workflows.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and teamwork capabilities to manage crew dynamics and foster collaboration.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, set protocols, and safety requirements for union shoots.
  • Proficiency in production tools, software, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies.
  • Ability to quickly resolve conflicts and adapt to unforeseen challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in managing multiple departments on set is a strong asset.
