Since launching in 2017, we have shipped over 3.5 million bottles of our innovative hair care products to consumers with curly hair worldwide and earned thousands of 5-star reviews. Our mission is as simple as the products we create: to encourage people to genuinely love and accept themselves so that their unique beauty can shine through.
LUS brands was built to a significant size in less than 5 years, using predominantly digital marketing. While we have remained almost exclusively DTC for the first several years of operations, this year, we’re looking to expand to new sales and distribution channels.
**About the job**
The Production Manager is a key member of the operations team responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient and timely movement of quality products through our supply chain. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations, this manager will be responsible for performing a broad range of functions including 3rd party manufacturing management; purchase order issuance and tracking; supporting quality control and inventory control. We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented professional who can work efficiently and accurately in a swiftly growing and fast-paced environment. The tech-savvy and self-motivated manager will develop new processes and controls and build out the production team to support this entrepreneurial business
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain production tracking tools, and coordinate with third-party manufacturers to ensure timely execution of production orders
- Develop and maintain relationships with third party manufacturing partners; regularly visiting manufacturing locations
- Ensure quality standards, delivery expectations and cost objectives are fulfilled through communication with third party manufacturers
- Actively highlight production issues and propose resolutions to meet deadlines
- Assess production and resource requirements
- Participate in product development activities, providing insight and experience with the product and marketing teams to take ideas from concept to executed product launch
- Provide weekly, monthly and annual reports of production targets and accomplishments
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage in-house manufacturing/assembly work
Skills/Requirements
- 5 years of experience in purchasing management in a manufacturing company, and additional experience in a production environment is an asset
- Experience with beauty products or liquid manufacturing is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in operations with a well-rounded knowledge of product development and supply chain cycles
- Experience working with large data sets in a fast-paced environment
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google G-suite products, with expert knowledge of Excel
- Strong analytical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven strong negotiation capabilities
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities
- Team player who works effectively with limited supervision
- Commitment to continuous improvement and excellent customer service
